Carpet Fibers
Triexta: Dupont 3GT Sorona is a renewably sourced polymer (contains 37% corn sugar) that offers durability, softness and advanced stain protection built into the carpet fiber. Sorona has softness and stain resistance of PET with the durability of nylon.
Nylon: The strongest fiber used in the carpet industry today. There are two types – staple yarn and continuous filament yarn. Continuous filament yarn does not fuzz like a staple yarn.
PET Polyester: This is not the same fiber of 30 years ago. This fiber is natural and permanently stain resistance and can be recycled over and over
Olefin or Polypropylene: The most color fast and naturally stain resistant fiber on the market. Performs best in a very tight or small loop. Olefin (with a large loop – high pile) will crush and will not retain its look. Olefin is a less expensive fiber.
